Common Ground
by Tono Mirai

Tono Mirai’s design philosophy is to design houses made from earthen materials to promote good health not only in the housing structure but for the families that live within them. He uses a traditional Japanese technique called “tsuchikabe” that harnesses earthen clay to create mud walls that will last for generations to come. His structures are not only healthy, but beautiful, incorporating classic Japanese architecture into his designs.

The Objective

The objective of this project was to brand and create the packaging designs for an eco-friendly line of powdered mix house paints. The main points were sustainability and the capture of the chosen artist’s brand.
